Chemo/radiation comfort bag drive underway
From last school year: students pose with chemo comfort bags collected from last year's drive.
POLAND – The second annual chemo/radiation comfort bag drive
is underway at Poland Central School District.
Last year, about 150 chemo bags collected by Poland Central
School District and the community were delivered to cancer centers throughout
the Mohawk Valley and Syracuse.
This year, the hope is to make the drive even more
successful and help even more cancer centers and patients.
Bags will be made for men, women and children, and
organizers are asking for help in collecting items that we can place in the
bags. Items may be left in either main office at the school.
Below is a list of items recommended by cancer patients that would help make them more comfortable during treatments:
- Fleece blankets
- Fleece hats
- Warm socks
- Small tissue packages
- ChapStick
- Aquaphor lotions
- Creams
- Small lotions
